One of the most requested gift ideas I see in craft groups is for teachers. I spent almost ten years working in special education and I can tell you one of the most appreciated gifts is supplies or gift cards for supplies. Teachers are given a very small budget for their classrooms which means they end up spending from their own pockets to make up the difference.
TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK IS MAY 6th to MAY 10th
So, while I know people mean well, rethink that sign or cup idea you may have and give them something they’ll truly appreciate and use. Because let’s be honest, what’s one person going to do with 10 tumblers?! And there’s only so much wall and shelf space for signs. You can always put them in a fun decorative tote or basket that can be reused for storage and taking home work. Don’t forget gift cards for coffee, lunch and Target of course!
